Black Aryanism and the Old and New Black Panthers

After writing my last blog, The End of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, I thought of an incident that helped me develop my theory on "Black Aryanism". The Black Panthers were so paranoid, that they wouldn't let any local chapters form without first vetting them. Local would-be Black Panthers had to first form a National Committee to Combat Fascism (later Intercommunal Committee to Combat Fascism) under the watchful eye of their headquarters in Oakland, California. In 1970, the local NCCF in Detroit had a house in Detroit which was raided by the police with a warrant and a brief gunfight erupted. Several people were arrested. Included in the arrest warrant was a "John Doe" known only as "Brother Rouggie". Police wire taps indicated that some people would inquire if Brother Rouggie would be coming to the house and other would say they were bringing Brother Rougie with them to visit. "Brother Rouggie" was just local NCCF slang for marijuana. But I digress.

After the raid, as Deputy Minister of Culture of the Detroit Regional Branch of the White Panther Party (yes, they had the makings of a big bureaucracy) in solidarity with my black brothers and sisters,  I thought it would be a good idea to hold a benefit concert for the jailed NCCF members. I contacted them and they assured me that they would be glad to accept any help I could give them. So I contracted three area bands, The Up (an official White Panther band) from Ann Arbor, The Frut from Mt. Clemens and Thomas Blood from Livonia. I agreed to pay each band $25.00 to cover costs, otherwise they would be  donating their services. The Concert was held at lower Deroy Auditorium at Wayne State University (the same room my American Government class was held a couple of years earlier).

Backstage at the concert someone had prepared an LSD-laced punch and most participants including the younger NCCF hangers on drank their fair share.  (Nobody was dosed against their will.) Between the 2nd and 3rd acts the leaders of the Detroit NCCF, a man and a woman, were scheduled to give a little "pep talk" to the people. Both dressed in the traditional Black Panther 3/4 length black leather jackets and stern-faced, they proceeded to say that "this is no time for partying and bull---t." This was no doubt in reference to so many people, particularly the young NCCFers, high on LSD, as well as marijuana and alcoholic beverages.. This (temporarily) cast a real "downer" on what was up to then a successful and enjoyable evening.  When they were finished scolding everyone, they disappeared out the front door. The "partying and bull---t" resumed.  While the last band was on stage, I went to gather the receipts so I could pay the bands their costs (totaling $75.00) only to discover that the NCCF leaders ran off with all the money. I told the bands what happened and promised them I'd get their money and pay them.

After a couple of days and a few phone calls, I found out where the new NCCF house was located. I went down there alone at night and knocked on the door. While waiting for an answer I heard feet stomping and little kids shouting "Seize the Time!  Off the Pig! " I knocked louder and heard footsteps coming downstairs from the upper flat. Two men open the door, brandishing firearms looking at me, this long-haired white guy, and asked me what I wanted. I answered, "The money you owe me for the bands' expenses at the benefit concert I held for y'all!" For a moment they just looked at me then each other in disbelief that this "honkey" had the b--ls to even make such a statement to to armed "brothers". They then invited me to come upstairs and talk to the main man. I was led into a living room where the stern-face NCCF leader who scolded the benefit crowd was holding court. (I saw in another room, the kids I heard from outside, still shouting "Seize the Time!  Off the Pig!" I then briefly scolded the NCCF dude for running off with the benefit receipts, reminding him that it was my idea to hold the benefit and that they should have let me present the proceeds to them after covering my expenses. To the utter amazement of the armed thugs that met me at the door, he payed me the $75.00 he owed me. He did not however apologize. I turned around, went down the stairs and left (with my life and limbs intact.)

I contacted the bands and paid them what I had promised them and I swore I would never lift a finger to help these ungrateful jerks again.  Later after Huey P. Newton took over control of the Black Panther Party and their national (intercommunal) newspaper, I then develop my own theory of what was developing. I called it "Black Aryanism". I defined it as the inevitable result of the black supremacist theory of Elijah Muhammad, founder of the Nation of Islam, now headed by the notorious Louis Farrakahn. Isn't it fitting that today, the New Black Panther Party has appeared on the scene, just as stern-faced and combining the worst traits of the Old Black Panther Party and the Nation of Islam. So while I was a leftist when I first used the term "Black Aryanism", I still use it and am convinced it was then and is now a correct definition of the philosophy of these modern-day anti-Christian anti-Semites. Or maybe this is one reason I am no longer a leftist, but have my feet firmly grounded on the right.

The Fall of the Original Black Panther Party

After reading about plans to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense complete with comments by Bobby Seale it's Chairman, I decided to write my own views of it's demise on the Yahoo users News discussion BBS.  However my comments were so long, I decided instead to make it my next contribution to my blog here at Townhall.com.  So here it is:

*****A number of factors led to the Panthers' demise, starting with government opposition, Jones says. In 1967, the FBI launched a counterintellige program against what it termed "black hate groups" as well as other activists.  -  from the AP story*****
     http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-6146904,00.html

The Black Panther Party (for Self-Defense) met it's demise by it's own "internal disagreements".  First of all, Huey Newton the Minister of Defense and his faction declared him "The Supreme Commander of the Revolution".  Bobby Seale as Chairman became less than a figurehead because even that would be a threat to Newton's internal coup.
Secondly, two factions emerged one backing Newton and one backing Eldridge Cleaver, author of Soul On Ice (before the Panthers) and designer (after the Panthers) of trousers with a male genitalia pouch on the OUTSIDE of the pants!  It didn't take long for followers of one faction to kill followers of other factions in gunfights!
After Newton took over as "Supreme Commander",  the White Panthers were taken over by "Pun" Plamondon while it's Chairman John Sinclair was serving a 9 and a half to 10 year prison sentence for giving a narc two joints of marijuana.   The White Panther Party then changed it's name to the Rainbow People Party. This was in keeping with Newtons theory of "Intercommunalism", i.e., all the "oppressed peoples" united against "the man" led of course by the black lumpen-proletariat (Newton himself and his gang of would-be pimps and pushers.)  Intercommunalism was in fact an unoriginal derivative of then Soviet boss Leonid Breshnev's "Theory of Limited Right of Self-Determination".  This meant essentially that nations had the right to self-determination so long as the Soviet Union approved of what they were self-determining to be!
Under these circumstances, it didn't take long for the Panthers (both Black and Rainbow) to whither away.  It should be noted that in Marin County, the White Panthers there refused to change their name and follow Plamondon and Sinclair's Rainbow People's Party.  They didn't want to be "respectible hippies" in the words of Ann Arbor's Ollie Bishop (who will always remain a legend in my mind).  I and a few followers acted on Sinclair's original proposal for the White Panther Party and founded the Woodstock People's Party. Boy were we ever young and stupid.
Huey Newton was a thug and his murder by a drug dealer was fitting to his lifestyle.  Bobby Seale (who I believe was at one time on the Oakland City Council) like an alcoholic fantasizing about the good times when he used to drink with his buddies, is now nostalgic for days gone by when he thinks he was relevant.  And who knows (or cares) whatever happened to Eldridge Cleaver?
Pun Plamondon was wanted by the FBI in connection with the bombing of a CIA recruiting office in Ann Arbor, but was captured along with his alleged co-conspirator Jack Forrest after littering (tossing beer cans out of their car!) Ironic considering Plamondon was an "Earth-loving" ex-sandal maker! (The case was tossed out when the court ruled that the entire transcript of the telephone wire taps would have to be made available [read: made public] to the defense.  The Prosecution citing "national security" issues for not acquiesing, dropped the charges.  Back then, I thought they had evidence that a foreign power (USSR) was meddling and the Feds were afraid of striking fear in the public.  I was probably just a little paranoid!
John Sinclair, another alledged co-conspirator in the CIA bombing case (who was a jazz critic for Downbeat magazine), founded Trans Love Energies which became the White Panther Party after hearing Bobby Seale talk at Eastern Michigan University.  Seale suggested to the mostly white audience  that "there be a White Panther Party" for young caucasian radicals.  Eventually, after John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band headlined a "FREE JOHN NOW!" rally at Ann Arbor's Chrysler Arena, the "Jesus Christ of Marijuana" was freed from prison.  Since then he continued to manage bands.  He managed the MC5 and got them and The Stooges (featuring Iggy Pop) their first major label record deals with Elektra Records.  He continued with his love of jazz and lived in New Orleans for a while.  I used run into him in Downtown Detroit from time to time a few years ago.  He is also known to be a big fan of the Detroit Tigers.  Although I have long discarded my leftism, we remained friends, probably because we both love the Detroit Tigers (more than any Panthers!)  GO TIGERS GO!
